CG to H with SCC BOT T4N2cM0 dx 12/19/08, teeth removed pre-tx; Erbitux & RT-done 3/12/09, PEG 2/9/09-7/14/09; ND 6/16. Pet 6/12-no mets except lymph node in neck removed on 6/16. Chyle leak,2nd surg to repair. Dilate esophagus 4/15/10. Clear PET 12/17/10

History Leukoplakia bx 8/2006 SCC floor mouth T3N0M0- Verrucous Carcinoma.
14 hour 0p SCC-Right ND/excision/marginal mandibulectomy 9/2006, 4 teeth removed, flap from wrist, trach-ng 6 days- no chemo/rad.
6 ops and debulking (flap/tongue join) + bx's 2006-2012.
bx Jan 2012 Hyperkeratosis-Epithelial Dysplasia
24cm GIST tumour removed 8/2013. Indefinite Oral Chemo.

1/31/16 passed away peacefully surrounded by family

Jim, I heard today about the cancer being back and I just wanted you to know that I will be thinking of you as you fight this battle again. You won last time and you will win again this time. You, like Christine, are an inspiration to so many people on here. Take care Jim.

03/03/2010-Peg removed
01/2013 left side of Jaw removed and replaced with pectoral flap.
23/12/2020 scan show lesion in tongue
01/2021 SCC stage 3 base of tongue diagnosed
01/03/2021 chemotherapy started.

Wow Jim, you are like those roly-poly toys we had as kids. You knock them down and they pop back up. Welcome back. Prayers still being sent for your complete recovery .


SCC stage II Partial mandibulectomy w. neck dissection- July 2005. Renal cancer w. partial nephrectomy-Jan 2004. Breast cancer discovered in routine mammogram. Successful lumpectomy, sentinal nodes clear, RT only-2008 Reconstruction of mandible w fibula free flap-Jan 09. TORS removal of begnin pappiloma from esophagus-2010. Masectomy,rt breast 2013.

Fantastic to see you posting again. Your endurance in face of adversity is outstanding. While none of this is easy, you almost make it look like that with your attitude. Of course all of us here know just how fracking hard it really is. Hope they get a handle on that pain. Hang in there brother

EZ Jim,

If anyone can beat this beast again it's you. I am in awe of your spirit and positive attitude. You are an inspiration to us all. You will be in my prayers....hang in there.

Caregiver to husband Ron. Throat Cancer. Finished 35 radiation treatments on 11/21/04. 8/2/11 small lesion on lower gum, laser Procedure to remove. 3/6/12 Doc. removed another lesion on outside of his neck. Did a skin graft from his chest to replace the skin on his neck. Went to Heaven on 6/24/12.

I have never said it was back for sure, it's just that the ENT and I agree that this is probably the problem with the pain and where it is from. Thank you all for the support you gve am and everyone else. Jim


Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Oh no, How did I miss this. Please let Jim know that he is in my thought and prayers. I just feel like my gut is turning upside down right now. He is an awesome encourager and i have learned a lot from him. I know hw qill beat this thing. He is a strong man. Praying for all of you.
