The surgery was a huge success because the doctors said that they opened it very easily and didn't have to cut anything. However, today he threw up and passed out and then aspirated into his lungs. They had to put him on a ventilator. I don't know why he passed out, but it was very scary. He seemed to be having a more difficult time of coughing after the surgery and I don't know if this contributed to his passing out. It's like one thing triggers another and so on and so on. Please keep him in your prayers everyone. Thank you.

He is off the ventilator, thank goodness, but they wanted to keep him in ICU for a day or two. Last night he was getting very disoriented and agitated, but he is still nauseous and they don't want him to leave until that passes. I guess it's not uncommon for the elderly to become disoriented in the ICU. He is a fighter whether he knows it or not. I tell him a lot of stories from this website (even though he could never read it himself because he has a hard time reading about medical issues even if they are similar to his). He does like it when I tell him inspirational stories. So thank you everyone for all your prayers and inspirational stories. It does help.
