OP Contributing Member (25+ posts) Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 30 | Thanks for your prayers. He is off the ventilator, thank goodness, but they wanted to keep him in ICU for a day or two. Last night he was getting very disoriented and agitated, but he is still nauseous and they don't want him to leave until that passes. I guess it's not uncommon for the elderly to become disoriented in the ICU. He is a fighter whether he knows it or not. I tell him a lot of stories from this website (even though he could never read it himself because he has a hard time reading about medical issues even if they are similar to his). He does like it when I tell him inspirational stories. So thank you everyone for all your prayers and inspirational stories. It does help.
Rett Father 80 y/o with BOT Stage IV/ SCC, laser surgery to remove tumor 8/08, Hemi glossectomy, reconstructed tongue, right side neck dissection, RT began 10-8-08, chemo not recommended because of age, Peg tube, non smoker/drinker.
