Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 8 | To have the PEG tube removed is very simple. Your husband will feel fine after a few minutes. Its going to make him feel great when he stands up. I was so happy that I could finally stand up straight again. A word of caution, it does hurt like heck when they pull it out but within 5 minutes the pain is gone. Maybe a tiny bit sore at the site, but not a big deal. Its a huge accomplishment to be PEG free
