As many of you know, my friend and chairside dental assistant of 25 years was dignosed with lung cancer just before Thanksgiving.

I received a phone call yesterday on my way home from the walk in NYC, that Dot is in the hospital and they have found cancer in her spinal column. I have known since her diagnosis that this day would come and to be honest, I am surprised that it took so long.

They have told her family that she will not be coming home and that she has a week to a month. She is heavily medicated and she does not recognize anyone much of the time.

Cancer sure sucks in any shape or form.
