Has your husband tried using the combo of water, baking soda, and salt? I used to rinse my mouth several times per day with that. I also was given a prescription mouth rinse called Peridex. Its a hydrogen peroxide rinse and it does burn a little, some kind of mint flavoring in it burns. I water it down to 1/2 water and 1/2 Peridex.
