Markus is right. My plastic surgeon told me my reconstruction would not work if i didn't get nicotine out of my system so blood vessels
could reconect. I never smoked after leaving his office and I had smoked like a stack on the ride there. I just got scared and made up my time. It is all in the mind.
No secret to it.

Had 14 hour operation which included reconstruction of jaw.
Reconstruction failed. Some radiation, no chemo.
