Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,219 | The general rule as stated above is if there is something not normal in your mouth that doesn't go away in 2 weeks, it should be biopsied. You should get a professional opinion as soon as possible from a dentist, oral surgeon or ENT. It might take you a week or more to get the appointment, so call tomorrow.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
