Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,128 | Not a professional, but I had biopsies of mild dysplasia and hyperkeratosis from one spot on my tongue for 15 years before I finally grew a tumor (SCC) at that spot -- BTW, I had used tobacco and alcohol, but had quit tobacco 35 years and alcohol 11 years before the tumor -- Watchful Waiting is the key here, you become the expert on your mouth and get a biopsy when anything changes.
