Australia like many other countries has had these pictures for quite some time now.
I was a heavy smoker who quite just over 2 years ago. 1 week before my surgery in September 2006 to be precise.
Before my Dx I would use a cigarette case to hide these images crazy
I guess like other addicts you get clever when something like this comes out and look for the workarounds.
I have done surprisingly well giving up but know that to have just 1 could be a problem. I can now be around smokers and not feel like I would like one.
I got over this by using my own methods when tempted.
1. The look on my family�s faces when they saw me the day after surgery. I could not put them through that again. I think it was close to a week before I saw myself.
2. Just need to look down at the shark bite inside wrist or put my hand to the right side of my neck.
3. Remember how much money I have not blown up in smoke these last 2 years.

History Leukoplakia bx 8/2006 SCC floor mouth T3N0M0- Verrucous Carcinoma.
14 hour 0p SCC-Right ND/excision/marginal mandibulectomy 9/2006, 4 teeth removed, flap from wrist, trach-ng 6 days- no chemo/rad.
