Nancy:
Its definitely a long road to walk before you are back to normal. Everyone reacts and heals differently. I was barely able to eat when my chemo and rad started due to having 2 open sores of cancer in my mouth. Ask your doc for magic mouthwash and use it to help ease the pain or the mouth sores. There are many variations of this, mine was malox, lidocain and benadryl. This will help you by making it easier to eat. Just keep swallowing as much as you can thru out the tx. Keep your calories up to 2000-3000 daily and water minimum at 48oz. Of course the more water and calories the better it will be for you. Good luck with tx.
