Finally we got to see the breast surgeon at Moffitt who does 500 breast surgeries a year compared to the OBGYN Oncologist the county referred her to that proudly said he does "about 10 a year". He spent nearly 2 1/2 hours non stop with us and we also spent time with his nurse. They also called in a Social Worker who spent about an hour one on one with Martha and a big box of tissues. In all we were there 5 hours. Killed my day but it had to be done. Her surgeon still needs to see the MRI CD, which Martha forgot to get but he's scheduling her surgery in less than 2 weeks. She now needs to decide on a Lumpectomy or a Mastectomy.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
