Hello All,

I haven't been around .. my mom passed away on Jan 31, 2008. She collapsed at home on Jan 24 and was taken to the hospital - where she was found to be diabetic. Sometime in the hospital she caught an infection (unknown) in her lungs, and by Jan 28 had a lot of trouble breathing and increased heart rate. With her weakened state and the cancer in her lungs she had a cardiac arrest and her heart give out in the early morning of Jan 31,2008.

What more is there to say, my mom wanted to live, she still had the fight in her but in the end her mind was strong than her body. We had a lot of hopes, mom and i .. .. she didnt want me to give up and i didnt want her to give up..

you always have hope, u always hope things will turn out for the best..

I want to thank everyone on the board .. I think cancer is one of those unknowns .. theres a lot we know but theres a lot we still have yet to learn ..

I will continue to learn and gain knowledge about cancer, maybe one day i can make a difference and help out others like my mom, and other mothers and families.

I got to spend a lot of time with mom, we had a lot of memoriable moments, .. i dont know if life will ever be the same, .. its like life wasnt normal before .. now life wont ever be the previous normal i used to know ..

Update: Feb 10/08: Mom passed away on Jan 31,08 - infection (unknown) in her lungs with her weakened immune system resulted in cardiac arrest - T2NO SCC of tongue surgery 6/30/06, SCC left neck and lungs detected Sept 07, 7 weeks rad/3 rounds chemo had no effect.
