I personally feel much more comfortable answering posts when i have all the facts, and as much information as i can get, therefore if i was considering giving help or advice,i think i would ask the person involved what i thought were pertinent questions on how much detail about their diagnosis they were in posession of.
David is just one of a few seasoned posters who don't indulge in flowery platitudes, and although that may hard to swallow at first,i for one found it far less hurtful or offensive than some very blunt judgemental remarks made about Robins lifestyle choices by less sensative posters.
David was sorely missed during his abscence from the boards a few months ago and i for one hope he keeps on being such a helpful and proactive member of this forum.
