Well, rain and all I made it to Los Angeles. They called us and told us to come in early, but didn't take Dad back into surgery until even later than the original time! Poor guy was laying on that gurney waiting nervously for 3 hours!!! It was awful. Needless to say, the Dr felt the surgery was a success. He is still in the hospital, and I am still in LA w/Mom. It was a long rough day yesterday and I am exhausted, as is she. I hope the actual usage of the PEG is as successful as the insertion. Dad has lost a lot of weight just since last weekend when I was here. He looks awful. frown

Well, off to the hospital now. Thank you all for your kind words. I will keep you updated on how it goes.


Dad: Age 65 Heavy smoker/drinker. Biopsy-No surgery. Cancer base of tongue/throat. "Invasive Squamous Carcinoma RRT" --Beginning 1/9/08: IMRT treatments (5X/wk),chemo pills (4/day) and Chemo IV (once/wk) PEG tube inserted 1/25/08. Treatments ended 2/26/08

JUNE 30, 2008 Officially CANCER FREE!!!
