Probably was a reaction to the Ethyol -- a very weird drug and folks have different reactions to it. For example, you are very fortunate that Compazine works to prevent amifostine nausea, most folks have to use Zofran (like my husband) or similar serotonin drug. Having said that, it does wok for dry mouth and also seems to help with mucositis a bit according to some recent tsudies.

Interesting that you are HPV-33 positive, most tonsillar SCC's are HPV-16 and a few HPV-18.
The latter two have been found to have much better prognoses than HPV negative tumors, hopefully same is true for HPV-33!
