Hey Robert,
I get sore spots and occassional bumps in my mouth as well. These used to freak me out too until my doc said that he's only interested in something lasts at least two weeks. So far, none of these things have lasted more than a few days and it's been nothing to worry about except to be more careful with the chips and salsa!

Base of Tongue SCC. Stage IV, T1N2bM0. Diagnosed 25 July 2003.
Treated with 6 weeks induction chemo -- Taxol & Carboplatin once a week followed with 30 fractions IMRT, 10 fields per fraction over 6 more weeks. Recurrence October 2005.
