Hi Chip,
Last month, during a dentist appointment, my dentist noticed a small white spot on my tongue. It was very upsetting to hear since I hadn't noticed it at all. I immediately called my ENT surgeon and arranged for an appointment two days later.

He looked at it, said it didn't appear to be anything dangerous but he wasn't going to leave it my mouth. Two reasons, he said - one is so that it wouldn't turn into anything serious and two, he didn't want me looking at it every day and wondering if it was getting bigger. Biopsy confirmed that it was not malignant.

I'd suggest that you go see your surgeon as soon as possible and have a professional assessment (and biopsy if warranted). Good luck with this, Sheldon
