I keep forgetting that mine melted away during the radiation so they actually have to dig deep to find the original tumor bed for the followup exams. When my tumor got large enough I was able to easily visualize it - but it was a big tan rubbery thing, and not "brain-like".
I have to admit I never looked much in the back of my mouth before I got cancer.
