Hello. I'm posting because I recently found two mysterious bumps in my mouth. The first one is very small, soft to the touch with a reddish tint, on the hard palate. It's hard to see unless you know what you're looking for. I've had it for two weeks. The second one is harder to describe. Right where the tongue meets the soft palate on each side normally (I think) there is a little bump. The bump on th left side is small as usual, but I noticed yesterday that the bump on the other side is over twice as large. There is no pain or discoloration. It's just bigger. I've had trouble looking up info on line because I'm not really sure what that area is called. I've been extremely paranoid about cancer in general over the past few months. In October I noticed a bump on my forehead and a feeling of pressure in tht area. Two doctors have told me it's nothing but a bony protrusion or lipoma and not to be worried, but I'm scared it's some sort of cancer. My second doctor (at my insistance) ordered a CT scan to see if is bone or soft tissue which I got done 2 weeks ago, and I still haven't heard the results! Now I've drawn up this theory in my mind that the bump on my forehead is cancerous and has metastasized to my mouth. Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing happening or know what the bumps in my mouth might be??? I hope I'm just going mad from paranoia, but it seems odd that I discovered all these strange bumps within the past few months. Also, who should I see about the bumps in m mouth, a GP or a dentist? Thank you so much for your input!
Oh, by the way, I'm a 25 year old female who doesn't smoke (maybe 1 cigarette about every six months or so to make my friends laugh, but that's it) and drinks on weekends. I drank more from when I was 21 to about 23 or so. I've started taking vitamins and drinking green tea regularly over the past year. I have always been healthy aside from TMJ and there's no oral cancer in my family that I know of.
