Hello members,
In July of 2007, I was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Tongue after a biopsi of a ulcer on the bottom of my tongue. Let me tell you, everyone was shocked, including myself. Im a 38 year old with no history of illness. I don't even smoke or drink. Within two weeks and two ct scans later, I was operated on. The ENT in Pensacola, FL cut 1/3 of my tongue and took out my lymph nodes on the right side of my neck (right neck dissection). According to the ENT, they were able to remove the cancer from my tongue with clean margins and no cancer was detected in my lymph nodes. However, currently (October, 2007) I went in for my two month exam and they found a bump on the right side of my tongue. They are going to conduct a biopsi Friday to see if the cancer came back. Wish me luck, I will keep everyone posted.
