Rowan and Georgia
Good luck on your treatments. My husband Ron is a two time survivor of oral Cancer. He was first diagnosed in 1975 when he was 29.he had surgery to remove part of his hard palate and a radical neck to remove the cancerous lymph nodes. He had a reoccurance in 2001 they think it was possibly due to the radiation he received in 1975. He had more surgery and thanks to medical advances in radiation he was able to take IMRT treatments. due to his surgeries and radiation treatments, he has lost most of his taste, swallowing is still and will always be difficult and he has limited opening in his mouth all he can wear is his obturator, no dentures. You really need to maintain your hydration and nutrition and not to mention a positive attitude which at times will seem like a very tough thing to do, but you will come through this, it just takes time.
