Thanks again, Steve. My husband gets his teeth cleaned every 3 months. His dentist is well aware of the situation. In the past he underwent debridement and tissue transfer after an extraction that could not avoided. This was done by oral surgeon on an oral cancer team at Mt. Sinai Hospital, NYC and that has remained stable.

Now that he is dealing with progressive dysphagia, a small cavity needs repair. I'm having trouble picturing how this can be worked on without aspirating and developing pneumonia.


CG to husband, dx @ age 65, nonsmoker/social drinker. Dx 5/08 SCC Stage IV, BOT T1N2aM0. 33 IMRT - completed 9/12/08. Induction Chemo (Cisplatin, Taxotere & 5FU), plus concurrent Cisplatin.
1/09 PEG removed; 5/09 neg PET/CT; 5/10 PET/CT NED
Dental extraction & HBOT 2013; ORN 2014; Debridement/Tissue Transfer & HBOT 2016
