Well done on the awake intubation Charm. Having been involved in a few myself I do know how difficult they are from the patients perspective. Kris too has had to enure this.
I just knew that all would be well for you - a skilled team at work. Hurrah!
Now, just get on with your recovery. One day at a time. I know it gets more difficult each time but you will eventually get there. Life sure is worth it.

PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
