If rinsing with salt water, try mixing 16 oz warm water with 2 tsp salt and 2 tsp baking soda. This will help neutralize the ph balance in your mouth and also help heal sores too. Rinse several times per day.
Its a good idea to take someone with you to any major appointment. Waiting til the 5th would be ok. If they want to do a biopsy, make sure the doc does a regular one not just a fine needle one.
