Welcome to OCF. You are being really proactive and that is about all you can do until you get further appt. The hardest part of all this is the waiting and not knowing. That said, you are moving really fast as it is barely a month and you are already scheduled for an ENT visit.
Many get throw a script or two of antibotics then when things don't clear up get a referral. You have cut that lag out so be comforted and 5 Feb will be here before you know it. Until then just be pleased you found it early and following up on it.
