If it's been there for more than two weeks, it's best to get it checked out. Don't put off seeing an ENT specialist. My son put off seeing someone for several months, until his SCC (Squamous Cell Cancer) on the side of his tongue got to Stage 2. You can save a lot of time and worrying over what it could be by just finding and ENT with a lot of experience with Oral Cancer patients. It could turn out to be nothing serious, but if it is, then you can start taking care of it right away. Hope it turns out to be nothing serious, but if it is, then you've come to the right place for lots of information and support from some very knowledgeable and compassionate people.
