Hi Glocita. Sorry I haven't responded ealier, I haven't been on this site in quite a while. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 tongue cancer on the right side of my tongue. It spread to one lymph node on the right side of my neck, and I had radiation done as well. I was 25 when I went through this. I am now 28.
My docs said that mine wasn't from smoking, or
HPV either, but that it was genetic predisposition.
I hope you are doing well after treatment. Everyone is different when it comes to how they can handle things. I still can't do spicy or anything with vinegar, or real oranges. But if they are mandarin oranges in fruit cups, I can. Also some vegetable skins I can't do either, because of swallowing issues, but I had the right half of my tongue removed and reconstructed, so you may not go through these issues.
I am glad to read you are through your treatment and staying so positive. I think we all fear reoccurence, especially when we were so young at diagnosis. Try not to let that fear control your life and all should be ok! Live every day to the fullest, and enjoy your life,

.
