Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,844 | I'm in the same boat as Christine as the SCC was deeply involved in my jawbone, in fact my jaw was dwindled down to virtually nothing on my right side due to how large the tumor was. I had the whole right side of my jaw replaced and where it was a long recovery for sure (due to other issues as well) I'm alive and enjoy a good standard of living. There are new challenges to be sure but the important thing is I made it through it and am thoroughly enjoying life now.
Good luck Richard, keep your head up my friend.
