Two major studies reported in the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal and even USA Today document that X-rays do NOT detect cancer in the lungs as well as a CT scan and even the CT scan is not so hot. Moreover there was no survival rate increase for even smokers who had chest X rays every year. It's from the national Cancer Institute
