I have used whey protein powder and plant based protein powder. Whey is usually made from dairy and plant based can be made from pea, rice and hemp or a combination as well as sprouts. As with any food it best to seek out the highest quality. I always look for organic and/or pharmaceutical grade supplements. For years I've used Life Extension Foundation (

I used whey protein for many years but recently switched to a plant based protein called Life's Basic Plant Protein. I switched because I decided to go to a full plant based diet and eliminate all dairy and animal food for environmental, spiritual and health reasons. I'm a firm believer in using only fresh food (organic when possible) ingredients in balanced recipes to make sure I get variety and the best quality. Hopefully it will add to my lifespan or at the very least keep me disease free.
