My husband is 5 1/2 weeks post treatment and I feel like we are finally starting to turn the corner. He is still in a great deal of pain and on all of his pains meds (last weeks was the first week they didn't increase any of them!) but the muscus is much better and he isn't spitting as much. He is still only able to drink liquids and eat some yogurt but is trying to take all of his feedings of Two-Cal through his mouth and not the PEG tube. After about 2-3 weeks he starting going for walks and we have been able to run more errands together and I can have him watch our 11 month old for longer periods (while I am upstairs). He even went and played poker up in NH this weekend with a friend. The recover is SLOW but it does happen and each day you feel a little better. Ken has been fustrated with the progress but all of his Drs. have been happy with it. I cannot imagine being the patient with young kids - being the caregiver has been hard enough. I hope you start to turn the corner this week and can start enjoying time with you family again soon!
