I just noticed your signature line indicating that you had TPN or Total Parental Nutrition. I had to google it to find out it meant having an IV directly into the vein instead of the tube into the stomach like most of us had. Ouch. I'm guessing the regular feeding tube is better? Anyway, I still get a discharge from my G tube after 18 months, but it does not smell. I do dab the stoma regularly with OTC triple antiseptic cream and that has prevented any infections. If you have a J tube, I'll leave that to Christine as I don't know what's normal for that, just the G tube into the stomach.
