I was hoping to have it out in July. But ended up having a second surgery to remove a mass from the base of my tongue. It did came back precancerous. But now I been declared cancer free.
Now getting back to the feeding tube. The ones that have them. Do you get drainage from the area It goes into the body. With me I get a lot of drainage and the smell of it not pleasant . The smell is just like if you have the stomach flu. Is this normal for it to drain like this? I do use IV gauze and IV tape around the wound. But it seems to getting more drainage.
One good thing that has come out of this in 3 1/2 years I have dropped over 100 pounds. Not a diet program I would recommended.
Please let me know if its normal on the feeding tube. Hoping now to get it out next month.
Round 1 5/2007 - 35 Rad treatments and 6 chemo of cisplatin TPN feeding for 5 months during treatment and after. Tumor was on the right side of the tongue.
Round 2. Tumor on the lower back right jaw area. Surgery on 3/12/2010 to remove the tumor, rebuild the jaw and some work on the back tongue.
