That was over 3 years and a few more surgeries, but I still do the work as it keeps me moving and alive. My Drs agree with my attitude now. And yes, I am no kid but a 74 yr old male that lives alone. I have lost over 80 lbs during this time, but besides the pain that never eases, I am very active. I am one that does everything for myself. I have nice adult kids, but it ie=s much easier to just go ahead and do what needs done than to wait. Waiting is the worst thing for me to do. Good luck with your disease, both of you. Just think positive.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here
