Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,116 | Hi, sort of on this same subject, I have had a bad tooth since my last oral cancer surgery in 12/07....Docs tried a root canal, didn't help, my dentist wants to pull it, my oral cancer doctor says NO. Due to the radiation I could possibly lose part of my jaw. I had HBO twenty times Last October, it did help. However, my gum around the tooth area is very, very sore. HBO did help and it was relaxing. At Univ of Md. Hospital, about 12 of us went in together, once they put the thing on our heads and turned them on, we either slept or read. I can have 10 more, hoping my oral cancer doctor agrees to it. Carol
Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10
