I understand what you're saying...very well. I've been afriend of Bill W's for 17 years now as well.
As Gary said, if you don't have a sponsor, get one. If you do, get their help. Anti-anxiety meds are not going to jeopardize your sobriety, but they are going to help you deal with what's going on for you emotionally.
Don't make it tougher on yourself than you need to. We're here...
