If you go to the upper right hand corner of any of these message-board pages and type India in the search box, you'll get several pages of results, many of them from patients or caregivers in India or from people elsewhere in the world whose family members in India are being treated. You could contact the posters (click on the user name for e-mail/private message) to get information specific to India. Cancer centers around the world use the Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a consortium of more than 20 leading U.S. cancer centers. The guidelines represent the latest treatment recommendations. The 2008 guidelines for head and neck cancer are available here. They show various treatment options based on where and what stage the cancer is. The main part of the Oral Cancer Foundation site is filled with pages of information that will be helpful to you. Go to the search page and type in the topic you are looking for. This is a great community. Keep asking questions and keep coming back.

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

I think what David told you is what you should do. The fees in your country are different then they are here I would bet. If you are 21, I imagine your dad is in his 40s? If so he will want to be the one picking the type of treatmenet he will get.. Good luck with whatever he decides..
