Good for you, Raymond! I knew you were a fighter. Keep punching that sucker until it stays on the canvas!

The surgery is going to go fine. We'll all be thinking about you and praying for your quick recovery

That's great, Raymond! I'll be thinking about you all day on Friday. U.T.Medical Center has wonderful doctors and nurses. With my son, the day started at 5:30am and lasted all day but there were lots of forms to fill out and tests before he even got to surgery. The surgery waiting room people were excellent and there was a TV screen showing when patients were getting to surgery and then to recovery and great updates for the families. I had my daughter and a nurse friend with me and even tho' they didn't allow families into the recovery room, after we had waited quite a while, she asked them if a couple of us could go see him and they did allow it. So sometimes "ask and ye shall receive" works! In our case, we also had to wait for a room to be available before my son was brought from recovery to his room at about 8:30pm. Be thinking about things you want to bring with you like a camera (my son took pics of himself and all the nurses) or a laptop or dry erase board in case you need to communicate what you want. Keep up the good fight!

Raymond, For me your strength was never a question. I new you would bounce back and face this head on. The problem is reading your post I was trying to put my self in your shoes and I'm still a little afraid. Having others to look to for awnsers is so reassuring and I'm sure you are going to do great because you are a SURVIVOR.

Raymond - Did you know that they have wireless internet connection in the hospital rooms at UT Medical Center? Whenever you feel up to it, with a laptop, you can let all your friends and family know what's happening with you. smile
