I started feeling feverish today, although no temperature, but feel icky and achy. I went to dentist this am and he gave me a script for amoxycillin although I havent filled it yet. I was looking in my throat today and thought I saw 2 bumps. Of course I panicked and told my husband to look, however he saw nothing. I feel 2 bumps way in the back on the left but cant get a good feel because of the gag reflex. They feel about the size of a shriveled up pea. My sore throat isnt as bad today however is extremely red. I looked up on the internet and saw a term called cobblestoning. I am panicking right now. Had a check up with my ent earlier this year. Could this be infection? This is going to be an extremely long weekend. Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

It could be a bacterial or viral infection or something else but I would complete the prescription and go from there.

They tested me for strep, negative. I asked him to glove up so he could feel for himself. He asked me to show him. How is that possible when it is on the back wall of your throat? He didnt do as I asked, it seemed to make him uncomfortable. However he did see puss pockets(cant remember the medical term) in the back of my throat and diagnosed me with pharyngitis. He told me to rinse with saltwater and take antibiotics, although my sorethroat is all but gone, as well as my feelings of being feverish and achy. I guess it just had to run its course, but a five day sore throat? Maybe we just feel things more acutely. I still might go to my ent just to be sure. I was irritated that the guy wouldnt palpate inside my mouth. He did say he may have felt a slightly enlarged lymph node on left side, but could be because I'm so thin. I immediately felt and felt nothing unusual or different than I normally feel. But still I panicked. Thanks for listening guys and thanks for your responses. I'll update if necessary, or hopefully I wont have to. Kelley

You are the one that has to be comfortable with it not that gy or us,, YOU do. I liked the post . It was interesting.
