To focus my mind, I had a toy ray gun with flashing lights and sounds that I would hold to my neck over the tumor spot and visualize individual white cells as little Tommy Tomorrow (an early 1960s comic book hero- part of the Planeteers) figures with ray guns all blasting away at the cancer cells at the base of my tongue and in the left lymph nodes. The radiation staff got a real kick out of it - and it seemed significant because although I had bought the ray gun back in Philadelphia on South Street in 1981, it had a logo across it of "Space Thunder - 2007" - the same year as radiation. Again curious if any other OCF posters used any Healing Imagery or Visualization therapy during their treatment. I figured it couldn't hurt (since I kept up with both radiation and chemo). Bear in mind, I am not confusing correlation with causation which is the false basis for alternative treatments or otherwise I would open ray gun clinics in Mexico since I used to have Stage IV cancer. But Achterberg was on the Advisory Board, Unconventional Cancer Treatments Study Group, Office of Technology Assessment, U.S. Congress and I felt it did help me.

I would like to recommend you the books of O. Carl Simonton, who runs a "Simonton cancer center" in Malibu; he also has a website, and there are therapists and groups working according to his ideas. My recommendation, however, shall not mean any judgment if it is a helpful procedure or not.
One thing which I would like to add to your visualization is that Simonton recommended not to focus so much on the "fight and kill" - aspect but rather on the growth of the helping and healing part of the therapy and on a sane future.

Probably will try a "weaving good health into the fabric of my tongue area " approach while I lay on the table for each hour long CyberKnife session starting Tuesday after Memorial Day 65 yr Old Frack Stage IV BOT T3N2M0 HPV 16+ 2007:72GY IMRT(40) 8 ERBITUX No PEG 2008:CANCER BACK Salvage Surgery 25GY-CyberKnife(5) 3 Carboplatin Apaghia /G button 2012: CANCER BACK -left tonsilar fossa 40GY-CyberKnife(5) 3 Carboplatin Passed away 4-29-13

I used visualisation throughout my treatment. Every ray treatment I imagined a white and healthy throat plus I welcomed the ray rather than tensing up when I heard those beeps! I know these techniques helped my mindset because I chose visualisation to keep my mind calm. Whether visualisation helped my ultimate survival - who knows. However I believe it did.
Love and light as you continue your journey. Helen
