hi My name is Michele and 4 years ago I have Scc on the floor of my tongue and recently was operated this month and the surgery removed 30% of my rt tongue and I opted out of recontruction. I'm not sure of what I did was right and this new surgeon pushed tongue reconstruction, now i'm goin back to my old surgeon and will be starting radiation, even though the cancer is not in my lymph nodes they want radiation because a new tumor came back. I's all so confusing and i'm not sure of the right decisions. Has anyone opted out of tongue reconstruction and how do you feel, can you eat regular foods?
