The oral surgeon took a panaramic x ray and said that I do have bone loss in my jaw but I do not have osteoradionecrosis! I will have to have the loose tooth pulled after twenty HBO tx and ten after. The tooth next to it is questionable also. I had six root canals and crowns put in last year.(Lots of credit card action and fighting with dental insurance!!!) So I go today for a consult with the hyperbaric people and we go from there. I am glad that I dont need jaw surgery , at least not yet. And I did learn that after 30 HBO tx, that is all I will need because there is not any evidence that more is helpful. Thanks for all your input. My family doesnt understand my angst. After ten years of being relatively "Ca Free" I was having anxiety about what is going to be next. Maria

When I saw you were from NJ I had to write to tell you about Dr. Soly Baredes at UMDNJ. He is an ENT surgeon and specializes in head and neck tumors. he has treated my mother since 2000. I have to say that he is the most wonderful doctor I have ever known--an excellent surgeon, well respected in the field, and the nicest, kindest man with a super bedside manner and wonderful staff. If you need a second opinion or know anyone who needs this kind of treatment in this state, Dr. Baredes is the one to contact. | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Maria, the HBO is going to be the easiest treatment you ever did. Its painless and will make you feel more energitic. The downside is that its very time consuming. Best of luck with it.
