She remains in remission and every appointment goes well. She still isn't happy having the camera check ups...hates the camera going up her nose/down her throat! She is approaching 1 year in remission in August and that's the time she has decided to have a celebration party! She remains so positive - I admire her so much for her attitude. She is one hell of a gal - she just takes everything in her stride. I want to say thank you to all of you who helped, advised, and supported us/her whilst walking this journey. Forever thankful. She sure is one lil tough gal to be as brave as shw is during all of this. I admire that kid and to me she is an inspiration for any age group, young or older. I sure wish I could attend her party and meet such a tough lil gal. Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here

Ginny M. SCC of Left lateral tongue Dx 04/06,Surgery MDACC 05/11/06: Partial glossectomy with selective neck dissection. T1N0M0 - no radiation. Phase III clinical trial ("EPOC" trial)04/07 thru 04/08 because tests showed a 65% chance of recurrence. 10 Year Survivor!

Left tonsil SCC, HPV+. T2N0M0. Tonsillectomy 3-07, bilateral radiation, cisplatin 3x, Tx completed 6-06. Clear PET 4-01-2008. Thyroidectomy 5-9-08, resulting in permanent surgically-induced hypoparathyroidism and adrenal problems. Bummer. | | |
