Hey everyone, I am Andrea, a three time survivor of mouth cancer. I am looking to get involved with an organization in which I can work to increase awareness of these types of cancers.

Welcome Andrea. You've come to the right place if you're interested in educating the public about oral cancers. They're always looking for fresh help. I'm new here myself. Brian will see your post and point you in the right direction.

Hello Andrea!

I am the event coordinator for OCF and would love your help in spreading awareness of oc. Who better than a survivor who is living with oc to talk to people about early detection and awareness?

If you would like, we can send you brochures, buttons to pass out to local dental offices, hospitals, cancer centers, etc. If you would like to help and become a volunteer, we have 3 already in your state, we can set you up!

Just send me a pm with your address and phone and we can get you started.

Welcome to OCF, you will find so much support and information here, they are wonderful people.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Susan

Hi, Andrea....I live in Alexandria, and I am one of Susan's volunteers. I haven't done as much as Malka has done in New Orleans. She posts here. Just search for her name. Welcome to the forum. Also, ask Malka when the Tulane support group meets again. It is a new group, and they were trying to meet one Thursday a month. I haven't been able to attend any meetings yet, but I will make it one day. It is nearly 3 1/2 hours for me to drive there, and the same back, of course. I have a son and his family in Mandeville, so I hope to make it to a meeting and then stay with them overnight.

Andrea,
Welcome to our "family." I am out of town and will be back Sun PM. I will try to call you then or Mon. Please email me with your contact info. The Tulane support group is not meeting right now because there is some reorganizing of personnel. We expect to resume in June.
