Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | I posted this mornings visit with my Oncologist in general. I wasn't thinking straight yet, just digesting the Drs words.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | I am on my way soon to pick up Fentanyl patches. I just can't take this pain anymore. I have to go to the Wheeling Hospital to his office to get them. I was told to name the pain meds I want, but geez, I told them I have percocets. He wants me to go for these. I still have 1 patch from the implants LOL I hope they do more this time than last. I was given the warning about constipation and I had better stock up on stool softners. Got those too. Wish I had BarbT here to drive.

6/1/09 passed away, rest in peace

Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 790 | The Fentynl patches did WONDERS for me Jim. I could actually function pretty normally instead of being in constant pain and then taking a pain pill and being kind of sleepy and all wacked out from the side effects of percocet/ vicodin etc.
It takes a day or two to have it get into your system.
