The cancer was stage 3, but the nodes came back clear. I haven't had to take any treatments yet. I do currently have a spot coming back. We are on the way back to the doctor tomorrow. I am 38. I have had problems with a spot in my mouth that would not heal since I was 21! I had it tested and it was cleared. Twelve years ago I had it tested and even though it was not cancer the doc. suggested that I have it removed. So I had a partial glossectomy. The spot was back within a month of the surgery. I went to many different doctors and no one could tell me exactly what it was. The spot kept getting bigger. Last year the whole area swelled up and started growing rapidly. I went to Mayo and was diagnosed with cancer in May. I had another partial glossectomy and neck dissection. I was amazed to find this site. I am glad to see that there are so many survivors. I wish all of you the best of luck. JB

This is a wonderful site, you will find a lot of good information here. What a shame that it was not found until May, but I'm happy the nodes were clear. That is so important. I also always sore spots on my tongue, actually just got it biopsied today.
Good luck to you and let us know of any questions!! Suzanne

Welcome to OCF. You will find tons of help here. There is so much info on the main site and both places have a search function. You mentioned that you have a spot coming back???? Lets hope that a biopsy will give good results. Thats the only way to know for sure if its cancer. You have already undergone some treatments, hope you dont need anythign else and have a healthy future.
