Hi Jim,
I got home yesterday 7PM and am checking up on everyone. What an awful feeling I had as I read the beginning of this thread! I should have started at the end instead of page 1.
I have had you in my prayers for an easy time with the repair. We had a newborn relative who had to go through open heart repair because of a very rare defect which showed up when he was 3 days old. He is now abut 3 months old and doing well. If a delicate newborn can make it through, a tough old bird like you should come through fine.
Wishing you well,
Malka

Jim is one of OCFs most beloved members, we all wish him well. Everyone only wants the best possible outcome for all members who have the misfortune of enduring oral cancer and of course their caregivers and family members. Lets all pray together for the best and not disagree. Hoping and praying that this is the best year for all of us. Please make sure that we get updated info about your surgery, doesnt matter who it comes from. Updates are just very much appreciated.

OK I do owe BarbT a big thank you. She was a part of my life for so long, I guess I tend to act foolish towards her at times. She has come anytime I needed her and stuck with me. I still miss her and need her but somewhere our train got derailed and made a mess. Sorry Barb and whatever it was, I hope someday I know. You are great and I was tending to turn my head. Take care of the 2 grandkids and enjoy them.

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to let you know Jim had his surgery. It took 6 1/2 hours, but he's came through it good. They have him on a ventillator, which he'll be on for 2 or 3 days. I'll keep you posted. He'll be going into Acuity Care after he gets out of the hospital. We're hoping it's here locally, so that the family can all go to see him there. I'll let you know when there's more to report. Thanks so much,
Carol
