I had no trouble driving every day of treatment, I'm a very good driver over 50 years with no problems, till yesterday, or at least thats when I notice. I drove like a drank. I hugged the white line and wentover it a few times, not knowing it till I was there. So now Im driving like I'm walking, Am I a lone on this? is this a side effect? will it go away? Whats next? I did better during radiation and chemo. I've call Doctors only to get nurses. woe say use walker, drink fuild, get rest, same old stuff and I'm not getting better. I'm the only driver here, can't walk 2 blooks to bus stop. I'm sure not going to drive. (loss neice to 3 car wreak on Christmas day, she was on drugs and hit car head on). I care for husband, house and shopping my self with little help from grandchild and she think I'm well now.....lol....I did too well almost. I set here till my behind is sore, so tired of looking at theses walls, told grandchld I'm going to get in the truck and go till it's warm and just set in a chair till I feel like coming back. she laughed, knowing I now can't drive, she said to wait tll its warm and she will take me to the lake. Am I wamting to much, I'm getting old? Sorry this is long and crazy, it's the way I feel right now.

Sorry to hear that you are having these problems.
Have you had your eyes checked recently? I was told that sometimes chemotherapy can affect your eyesight which could then affect your balance and judgement etc. Just a thought!

even middle ear fluid / nerve damage / or an ear infection can cause what you are describing possibly ... so get in and see either oncologist, your regular MD or an ENT doc ... get in soon hon so you will know
sorry you are going thru this.

There are many after effects of chemo and radiation. One being sinus issues which can cause inner ear problems. End result if equalibrium being off. Several people here including myself have reported our balance being off since treatments. The attention span has also been mentioned as kinda like being a bit of a zombie. So, maybe these things are playing a part in what you are experiencing. Are you taking any medications that could cause these side effects?
Im sorry to hear about your neice. Very tragic siutation. Does your granddaughter still help out?
Of course, check with the doctor. Hope you feel better soon. Walking downstairs in my house sometimes I would get the sensation on missing a step and I would have to hold onto the banister. Weird feeling, kinda like being dizzy but it did go away. I was also very thin during that time so I'm not sure if that may have played a role or my whole body chemistry was still messed up. Anyway it passed.
