Imagine changing the world without changing your routine. Did you know that you could help raise money just but searching the Internet? I know everyone has their favorite search engine, but why not try GOODSEARCH.COM first. It is powered by Yahoo!!! Go to the website and under the who do you search for section type in Oral. Then in the box look for Oral Cancer Foundation (Newport Beach, CA) Once you select it you can use this page to search for anything. Every time you search for something a penny is donated to that cause!!! You can even check how much money has been raised!!! Even when I know the address and would normally just type it in, I go to goodsearch.com and search for just for that penny! I know that if we get the word out we can raise a lot of money!! Thanks to Brian Hill OCF has been added to the list!! I have made it my homepage to make it easier: Microsoft Internet Explorer users: Select Tools Internet Options. Select the General tab. In the Address textbox, type http://www.goodsearch.com. Click OK. If you do any shopping online use GOODSHOP.COM. The site donates a percentage of all purchases (up to 37%) to your charity of choice, without the hassle of registering, whenever you buy from one of 600 affiliated merchants from Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Target, to Bloomingdale's and Zappo's. What a great way to help raise money for awareness! We need to get the word out. Oral cancer kills more than those more well known cancers like ovarian and breast! Please help by changing your favorite search engine....doesn't take much to help change the world...now does it!

Forgot about it because the caise I wanted to contribute to was not listed. I heard about it again on Good Morning America. OCF wasn't listed so I posted the idea under the Activism forum and Brian jumped right on it! Thanks Brian!!!

I had never even heard of it before this came up here. The goodsearch organization seems to be run by good people with good intent. But the actual benefits to OCF may not be much in real dollars. The amount that they give to any non profit (they really didn't check us out much before allowing us to participate) is very small. The search engines in general make most of the money, in this case Yahoo. But before I toss any stones, we'll see what it does. Our Amazon donation situation gives us 2.5-4% of every purchase. That really adds up if people remember to use it, so I like these " no cost to you" ideas. But in the real world Yahoo searches run a very far second to Google as a search engine used by the public. I want to thank MsGrant though for the initiative and the idea. OCF needs all the help we can get in these tough economic times. Shaylynn - please be careful with your facts. Both breast and ovarian take more lives than oral every year. I will keep everyone posted on how this plays out before making any comment to fully get behind it or not. Here is the FAQ about Goodsearch http://www.goodsearch.com/About.aspx

Truth is, it's not the world's best search engine. But it IS legit. We've received a few hundred dollars over the past couple of years.
